David L. Mills began his career as an attorney in 1989 and represents clients in both criminal and civil litigation matters. His primary areas of practice include criminal defense, business litigation, and personal injury, including motor vehicle accidents, construction accidents, product liability, and medical malpractice. He represents claimants and defendants. Before entering private practice, Mr. Mills worked as an Assistant Missouri State Public Defender and a District Public Defender, allowing him many opportunities to refine his trial skills.

Scott T. McBride is a trial attorney who dedicates his practice to protecting the rights of individuals charged with crime, of people who have suffered serious injury through the negligence of others, and of businesses and employers who want to run their companies and manage their employees smoothly and efficiently. From 1994-1997, he was an Assistant Public Defender in the Rolla office and from 1997-2001 he was Trial Counsel in the Capital Litigation Division in Columbia. Scott began private practice in 2001 and returned to Rolla in 2005 to work with Thomas, Birdsong & Mills. He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, The Missouri Bar, Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the American Bar Association. He has tried several complex and high-profile cases throughout Missouri and has substantial experience with representing individuals in the state and federal court systems.

Scott T. McBride

Mr. Osborne practices in the areas of probate, estate planning, insurance defense, business organization, and real estate. During school, Mr. Osborne served as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri for U.S. District Judge Audrey J. Fleissig.

David A. Osborne

Katie Fox began her career as an attorney with the Missouri State Public Defender at the Rolla trial office in 2007, where she focused on representing indigent defendants in criminal cases. In 2011, she moved to the private law sector to expand her practice. At Thomas, Birdsong, Mills, McBride and Osborne, P.C., her primary areas of practice focus on family law and related matters (dissolutions, legal separations and paternity actions), guardianships, adoptions, juvenile law, and collections. Ms. Fox is a member of the Phelps County Bar Association, Missouri Bar, and the Missouri Bar Family Law Section. She earned her Bachelor degree from St. Louis University in 2004 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 2007.

Tom Thomas began practicing law in 1973 and serves as Of Counsel to the firm. He is a published author, having penned “Reformation of Written Instruments in Missouri” as a law student and member of the University of Missouri Law Review.

Dan L. Birdsong has been an attorney since 1971 and has participated in over one hundred jury trials. His extensive experience is invaluable in his role as Of Counsel to the firm.
